The language medium used in the Highveld Tribune is both English and Afrikaans, covering the whole gambit of news events relevant to all sections of the community of Ermelo and surrounding towns Piet Retief, Breyten, Chrissiesmeer, Bethal, Trichardt, Amersfoort, Amsterdam, Lothair, Davel and Sheepmoor. Hard news, breaking news, crime, community news, social events, property, classifieds and sporting events are regular features.

The Highveld Tribune was established in April 2006. The newspaper has grown by leaps and bounds and has entrenched itself in the hearts and minds of our readers. It's popularity has caused it to become a feature of Tuesday mornings in Ermelo and is widely sought after. Part of the success story of the Highveld Tribune can be attributed to the fact that we strive to live up to our slogan featured on our front page banner 'The newspaper that cares'. As a result of appeals made through the newspaper, several communities and individuals have been assisted, either financially or by means of goods donated by our wonderful and caring readers.

We have also laughed and cried together with our community and we have shared in their joys and bereavements. In cases where it was warranted, we have not hesitated to fulfill the role of watchdog to the community and have stepped on toes where and when it was deemed necessary, and will continue to do so.
