Another two bites the dust...
Yet another two vehicles were involved in a collision at the corner of Jansen and Laffnie Streets. Every so often, residents living in these streets hear the screeching sound of tyres attempting to do the impossible - stop in time to avoid an accident.
The latest collision involved a Land Rover and Izuzu bakkie. The accident happened at approximately 16:00 on Monday, 27 June, when the bakkie travelling in Jansen Street, failed to stop at a yield sign at Laffnie Street. Neither vehicles were too badly damaged and no-one was injured, but it goes to show once again, that the intersection in question is a danger to motorists. The driver of the Land Rover pointed out that the lines, indicating where to yield, were so faded that they are almost invisible to motorists.
A man was killed approximately two years ago when a accident took place at the same intersection. The public is reminded to drive carefully, wherever they drive, but to take extra caution at these streets. LM
