Taekwondo’s Master Plan

The Blackbelt Family Centre had the honour of hosting a seminar in Johannesburg, which was instructed by one of America’s best Taekwondo Masters, Master Scott Skiles.   The seminar was held from 31 March to 3 April and students from all over South Africa enjoyed several of the seminars that was presented by Master Skiles.  “He came to share his 30 years of teaching and training experience with the students, Blackbelts and Instructors,” says Pierre Aucamp of the Ermelo Black Belt Family Centre (BFC).  Ermelo BFC also organised the seminars and it was held in the Johannesburg as it is centrally located.  During the seminar, colour belt students learned the Jahng Bong (long staff) form and an Xtreme Martial arts form with which they had to compete in a tournament on Sunday, 3 April.  Five students from BFC Ermelo joined the seminars and then competed in the tournament and returned to Ermelo with several gold, silver and bronze medals.   These students are Domminique Aucamp (7), Siphesihle Nkosi (10), Ameen Tikly (4), Raees Tikly (6) and Yoosuf Rossier (7).   After the four day seminar, instructors Pierre and Debbie Aucamp, had the privilege to show Master Skiles the spectacular sights and sounds of Kruger National Park.  “Our expectations were trumped when elephant, buffalo, wild dogs and rhino’s refused to make way for us to get out from the Malelane gate.  Master Skiles left South Africa with heaps of stories of the friendly people, excellent students and bad behaved elephants he met during his visit to South Africa.  The Blackbelt Family Centre’s Master Plan will be to get one Master from the States each year to help our students and instructors grow to their fullest potential,” Pierre concluded, adamant that the Master Plan will come to fruition.  LM
